Principles of Dental Careers
Principles of Dental Careers will provide the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the Dental Field. A focus will be placed on the role of the modern dental assistant and will cover key pre-clinical procedures and beginning dental terminology.

•Credits: 2 semester course, 2 semesters required, 1 credit per semester, 2 credits maximum
•Counts as a directed elective or elective for all diplomas
Dental Careers Fundamentals
Dental Careers Fundamentals will build upon the knowledge and skills in the principles course. Students will understand and practice beginning chairside functions of the Dental Assistant along with a focus on the Anatomy and Physiology of the head, neck and oral cavity.

•Credits: 2 semester course, 2 semesters required, 1 credit per semester, 2 credits maximum
•Counts as a directed elective or elective for all diplomas
Advanced Dental Careers
Advanced Dental Careers Fundamentals will build upon the knowledge and skills developed in the first two courses. Students will study more advanced chairside assisting functions along with advanced infection control techniques.

•Counts as a directed elective or elective for all diplomas
Dental Careers Capstone
The Dental Careers Capstone is a senior only class that will place qualified students who have completed the Dental Careers pathway into a Work Based internship in the dental careers field. This class requires an instructor recommendation as well as an employer sponsor.
