DC Principles of Criminal Justice

Principles of Criminal Justice covers the purposes, functions, and history of the three primary parts of the criminal justice system: law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Students will participate in physical exercise unless medical or physical limitations prevent them from doing so.

DC Law Enforcement Fundamentals

Law Enforcement and Cultural Awareness introduces fundamental law enforcement operations and organization including the evolution of law enforcement at federal, state, and local levels. Students will participate in physical exercise unless medical or physical limitations prevent them from doing so.

DC Corrections and Cultural Awareness 

Courts and Corrections introduces topics related to the adjudication process in criminal cases, including arraignments and preliminary hearings, suppression hearings, trials, sentencing, juvenile court, and probation and parole. Students will participate in physical exercise unless medical or physical limitations prevent them from doing so.

Criminal Justice Capstone

The Criminal Justice Capstone is a senior only class that will place qualified students who have completed the Criminal Justice pathway into a Work Based internship in the criminal justice field.  This class requires an instructor recommendation as well as an employer sponsor.
