October is Principal Appreciation Month, and Walker Career Center is proud to recognize our very own Dr. Steve Rogers for his outstanding leadership and dedication to students and career and technical education.

Dr. Rogers has recently received two prestigious honors: the ACTE (Association for Career and Technical Education) Administrator of the Year and the IACTED (Indiana Association of Career and Technical Education Districts) Tom Paul Director of the Year.

According to Dr. Rogers, both awards came as complete surprises. While he is honored by the recognition, he admits that he isn't particularly comfortable being in the spotlight. He would much rather the attention be focused on the students and their accomplishments. However, he shared that the Tom Paul Director of the Year award was especially meaningful because the recipient is selected by fellow educators and administrators in the field. Being recognized by his peers left him both humbled and grateful.

His humility, dedication, and student-first philosophy are just a few of the reasons Walker Career Center is fortunate to have Dr. Rogers at the helm. This October, we celebrate not only his well-deserved accomplishments but also the impact he continues to make on the students and staff of Walker Career Center.
