Winterlights at Newfields
Walk around the campus at Newfields and watch the millions of lights glow through the night. Depending on the day, tickets range in price from $25 to $39 for adults and $16 to $30 for children under 18. Children 5 and under can enter for free. The light show is running from Nov. 24 to Jan. 4. The Jewish Federation will work with Newfields “Latkes and Lights,” a special Chanukah celebration on Dec. 15 at 5 p.m., included with Winterlights tickets for that date.
Christmas at the Indianapolis Zoo
Take the little ones to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus and all their little elves. Go see the transformation of the zoo turned into a winter wonderland. The holiday season at the zoo runs from Nov. 22 to Jan. 4 and is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. A sensory-friendly evening will be offered on Dec. 17.
Christkindlmarkt Celebration at the Athenaeum
Enjoy the food, drinks, activities, and entertainment at the annual Christkindlmarkt festival in downtown Carmel, from Nov. 28 to Dec. 24. Admission to the German-themed market is free. Still, food, drinks, and other activities like ice skating cost money.
Children's Museum Winter activities
Join the “Countdown to Noon,” a family-friendly event at the Children’s Museum, with fun activities and a countdown to New Year's at noon on Dec. 31. Another fun winter activity they have is the WinterFaire, where families can enjoy festive, carnival-like surroundings, filled with fun games, hands-on activities, and a fun winter experience.
Noon Year’s Eve at Perry Crossing
Celebrate “Noon Year’s Eve” at The Shops at Perry Crossing in Plainfield on Dec. 31. Participants can take fun pictures on the red carpet, eat sweet treats, play some games, have a dance party, and watch as the balloon drops to start the new year.
