Sports and Entertainment Marketing
Grades 11-12 (this course can be taken one or both semesters)
Sports and Entertainment Marketing is a unique and innovative course designed for students with an interest in either sports or entertainment marketing. Students will develop an understanding of the concepts and theories relating to the various aspects of the sports and entertainment business. They will apply marketing principles to the sports and entertainment industry. They will examine the economic impact of sports and entertainment; endorsements, sponsorships, product development, licensing, image, sales, promotion, pricing, and more. Through extensive participation in interactive group projects and case studies, students will experience product development, event marketing, market analysis and executive-level decision-making. Students need to be able to communicate well and work in teams, and be willing to volunteer at some sporting events.
