The Walker Career Center serves students from Warren Central, New Palestine, Greenfield and Mt. Vernon High Schools. The career center offers twenty-three programs that utilize state-of-the-art equipment and technology that meet or exceeds industry standards. The career center has something for every student! Our programs serve those students who choose to go directly into the world of work and those students who choose to go on to a two or four year college program. Our programs offer dual college credit and certifications from a number of colleges and universities.

  • SkillsUSA Animation TEam - 6th in the nation
  • Awards for Excellence winner - Academy of Cosmetology
  • Robotics - Innovation in Control Award
    • VEX - Qualified for Champions of Americas in Dallas, Texas
    • FIRST competed at Nationals - 19th place
  • PLTW competed in Dallas Instructional Recognition Award
  • ProStart/FCCLA Competitions
    • Culinary Team A - ProStart 2nd Place; FCCLA State Runner Up
    • Culinary Team B - FCCLA 3rd Place
    • Management Team - ProStart 3rd Place
  • Indiana Association of School Broadcasters - 3rd Place Award for Television Newscast
  • Became a 'Dream It Do It' Champion School
  • Lilly Interships awarded to two students
  • Computer Networking teamed with the 'Geek Squad' from Best Buy
  • ESPA Certifications - 1st secondary school in the nation
    • Two students and two instructors passed their EST certifications
  • Two students received their A+ certifications
  • Seven students passed their cosmetology certifications
  • Connected Walker Career Center pathways to the Hoosier Hot 50 Jobs
  • Hosted SkillsUSA State Meet
  • Added dual credit agreements for Cosmetology through Vincennes University
  • Involved in MPO Project-Light Rail Project-winning logo
  • Added third Biomedical Science course - Medical Interventions
  • SkillsUSA - 4 State Champions (42 competed at state - 19 placed in the top 5)
  • Marion County Tech Fair
    • 1st Place - Beginning Web
    • 2nd Place - Advanced Web
    • 3rd Place - Beginning Web
  • Building Trades Program is completing its 24th house
